The special feature of wire cutting is that, through fine control and cutting-edge technology, tolerances of ±0.001mm or even smaller can be achieved.

Wire cutting cubes require very fine specifications for the electrode wire. We use thin metal wires, generally choosing wires below 0.1mm, to ensure precision during cutting. The electrode wire is mainly made of brass, passing through the workpiece material to cut the desired shape.

How Do We Make the Zero Tolerance Wire EDM Cube?

To make a zero tolerance cube using wire cutting technology (Electrical Discharge Machining, EDM), slow wire cutting equipment is required.

We use high-quality stainless steel, which has excellent corrosion resistance and is ideal for withstanding challenging conditions in any environment.

Wire EDM Machine

We use slow wire cutting equipment, utilizing a continuously moving fine metal wire (called an electrode wire) as an electrode to discharge electrical sparks, removing metal and cutting it into shape.

It is primarily used for processing workpieces with complex shapes and fine precision. The slow wire speed is generally below 0.2mm/s, with precision up to the 0.001mm level, and the surface quality is close to grinding level.

Surface Finishing

The surface after cutting may have tiny burrs or uneven parts, which we process using methods like polishing, electrolysis, or grinding to remove the burrs.

After completion, we use a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to ensure that each edge length and angle of the cube is within the strict tolerance range.
